This shelter is stand-alone with 2 doors, 1 bathroom, benches, fresh air vents and painted to match established buildings. To be drained in the winter this shelter is low cost maintenance and provides safety and security to a lot of people in the surrounding area. This shelter was built with stamped engineered drawings, funded partially by FEMA. It is constructed of poured concrete. Built with a dual purpose to be able to do your laundry and be able to look out a double-pane window from inside the shelter. Above ground shelter will protect people at Camp Alexander

The children who attend Camp Alexander will be safer thanks to the efforts of board members and a grant from FEMA. A year and a half effort to build a tornado shelter on the Camp Alexander grounds is nearing completion.
